Meet the Team

Jen

Jen was born in Glasgow and spent 15 years teaching in Scottish secondary schools. She began her formal training in teaching English 20 years ago, progressing to the CELTA qualification with the British Council.

She believes strongly in equality and equity, and in the importance of creating fair access to learning and employment. Jen is motivated by the simple idea that people should be supported to begin building their lives in Scotland without unnecessary barriers. She values the many different pathways people take and finds particular satisfaction in supporting individuals to study, move into work, and regain confidence, pride, and a sense of dignity.

Jen teaches English language, Social Enterprises: Policy and Governance, Funding Applications, Guide to Self-assessment, Leadership Skills, HR Basics, Building Resilience, Trauma-informed Practice and Safeguarding.

Mshael

Mshael is from Sudan and is an experienced journalist. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communication Science and a diploma in Public Relations. Mshael teaches our Social Entrepreneurs in Social Media Marketing, Press Communications and Workplace Culture, Making the most of Social Media, Using Canva for non-designers to create professional, branded marketing materials.

Mshael is currently undertaking a Leadership Skills course and is passionate about supporting others who have experienced what it is like to flee war, and to try to rebuild a life here in Scotland.

Khadiga

Khadiga is originally from Eritrea and has lived in Glasgow for the past 10 years. She has volunteered with a local charity and social enterprise that support New Scots to settle into life in the city.

Khadiga is known for her warm, compassionate, and caring approach, and she takes care to ensure that everyone she works with receives the right support and clear signposting to appropriate services. Khadiga is our office manager and is responsible for ‘on-boarding’ new students and volunteers.
