Meet the Team
Mshael
Hi!! I’m Mshael and am originally from Sudan. I am the founder of Flourish Glasgow. Previously, I worked as a journalist and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Communication Science and a diploma in Public Relations.
At Flourish Glasgow, I love supporting our social entrepreneurs to grow their confidence and skills — whether that’s through social media marketing, press communications, workplace culture, or helping people use tools like Canva to create professional, eye-catching content (even if they’ve never designed anything before!).
As someone with lived experience of fleeing war and starting again in a new country, I’m really passionate about supporting others on that journey. I understand how overwhelming it can feel, and how important it is to have the right support around you.
At Flourish, we’re here to help in lots of different ways — from access to affordable, healthy food, to support with ESOL, job and college applications, work experience, and building confidence for the future. For me, it’s all about creating a space where people feel welcome, supported, and able to move forward with hope.
Jen
Hi! I’m Jen. I was born in Glasgow and spent 15 years teaching in Scottish secondary schools. I began my formal training in teaching English over 20 years ago and went on to gain my CELTA qualification with the British Council.
I believe strongly in equality and equity, and in the importance of creating fair access to learning and employment. I’m motivated by the simple idea that people should be supported to begin building their lives in Scotland without unnecessary barriers. I find it incredibly rewarding to support individuals to study, move into work, and regain confidence, pride, and a sense of dignity.
At Flourish Glasgow, I teach English language as well as a range of courses including Social Enterprises: Policy and Governance, Funding Applications, Guide to Self-assessment, Leadership Skills, HR Basics, Building Resilience, Trauma-informed Practice, and Safeguarding.
Khadiga
Hi everyone! I am Khadiga. I’m originally from Eritrea and have been living in Glasgow for the past 10 years. During that time, I’ve volunteered with local charities and social enterprises supporting New Scots to settle into life in the city.
I’m really passionate about helping people feel welcome, supported, and confident as they find their feet — whether they’re new to Glasgow or simply going through a difficult time and need a bit of extra support. I believe everyone deserves kindness, understanding, and access to the right opportunities.
At Flourish Glasgow, I’m the Office Manager and I look after onboarding new students and volunteers. I love being one of the first people they meet, helping them feel at ease, and making sure they’re connected to the right support and services. Creating a warm, friendly environment where people feel they belong is at the heart of everything I do
